About the event

This online training course provides an introduction to key concepts, laws, and policies regarding ethical recruitment, sometimes also referred to as responsible recruitment, employer pays recruitment, or zero-fees recruitment - although ethical recruitment is about far more than just fees!  Learn about the key elements of ethical recruitment, and how to reduce business risk, strengthen labor recruitment systems, verify and validate recruitment experiences of workers, and improve workers’ well-being through ground-truthed, practical case-study based approaches.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the current regulatory environment and its relevance to the international labor recruitment process in South and Southeast Asia.
  2. Identify risks to business of NOT going beyond compliance, when it comes to recruitment - recognizing that standards for legal compliance in most countries in Asia are lower than corporate Employer Pays Policies.
  3. Understand Issara Institute’s Ethical Recruitment Program and Tools that are available and applicable to suppliers and recruitment agencies in Asia (and beyond).
  4. Identify ways to maintain competitiveness in the face of evolving human rights due diligence (HRDD) standards and requirements, and practical steps to toward the new requirements in global supply chains.
